Why we Train?

The Situation

Everyone is busy, our lives have a lot of moving parts. "How am I ever to find the time to train?". This is a problem for many people... It’s been my experience that most people understand they should, but often lack the follow-through to start training.

So what’s the answer?

Develop an understanding of your current skill level.

The Mindset

To put this quite simply, most people OVER-estimate their skill level and UNDER-estimate how serious a situation defending life can be. So, what can anyone do to gain a better grasp on where they stand?

Evaluate

Have a range day and shoot some common drills (PA Training Center has many good ones) and see how well you stack up with the suggested accuracy and time constraints. you will find there's areas you need to work on!

Make the changes!

Dryfire is your friend. Document your progress at the range and work on the things that your slacking on at home and see how much you improve next time you go.

As with  anything change takes time and consistency, take a look at some fantastic instructors like Scott JadlinskiBrantley MerriamBen Stoeger and many more, most of these guys have free content online which is fantastic for the common busy man.

Reap The Results

Being an asset is a constant struggle to become and maintain.  It isn’t the hardest thing in the world, it just requires consistency and the right mindset. Always strive to become better in all aspects of your life, and you will prove to be the best version of yourself.
