Do You Know Your CCW?

Do you KNOW your CCW?

Training is explicitly a solo process. No one else can put in the time for you or make you understand your firearm for you. Have you put in the work to fully know every detail about your CCW?

FAMILIARITY

Every Firearm is different, Surprise! Manual of arms, grip style, holster, and many more things affect the way you carry and use your CCW. Knowing every single intricacy and building a muscle memory will inherently mean you are better with it.

Building Confidence

Confidence in your CCW allows you to be much more focused on the things that matter. Like actually enjoying time around family and friends instead of hyper fixating on how you think you might have to use your gun in a self defense situation.

Having an excess of skill is what we push people to acquire. Take what Government agencies say with a massive grain of salt but the standard they have pushed for a while was the 3 Drill. 3 Yds, 3 Seconds, 3 shots.

While we find this standard to be abysmal, follow us to see the illustration purpose. Take that standard and make it harder, as goes 5 Yds, 2 Seconds, 5 Shots. If you practice with this harder standard, then when asked to perform the 3 Drill, it will be a cake walk. Because you have an excess of skill.

Mastering the Draw

Often overlooked is how the gun gets presented for that crucial first shot. Every firearm has a different grip angle, height over bore, holster set position.

With these known variables becoming a master of your specific CCW is crucial. Even the swap between similarly sized firearms can be quite a different grab from the holster because of grip size, position, texture, etc.

Every bullet you send downrange is an opportunity to save lives. Can you confidently do it with the first one you fire?

Reliability Testing

This is SUPER important. Make sure that your setup runs well! Even the simplest of accessories, ammo types or changes to your firearm could drastically change how well it runs.

Make sure the way you train is the same you carry. Make sure your carry ammo performs well but also CYCLES well. The last thing you need is to be clearing malfunctions when lives are in danger.
