Exodus Hosted By Purposeful Armament
Contestant Info and FAQ
Below you will find important information about the event so you know what to expect.
Address
777 Guthrie Rd. Bedford, IN 47421
Facilities
Exodus will be hosted at American Arm Indoor/Outdoor Shooting Range. We do have camping available on site for a small fee. If camping please make sure to clean up after yourself, don't leave a mess!
Schedule
Registration will be from 9am - 10am. Safety brief at 10am. Shooting will start at 10:15am. Squads will shoot at the same time on different bays.
Stage Info and Training
We don’t advise you to specifically train for just this event, you want to be capable everyday not just event day. With that being said, make sure you are physically capable.
We won’t be posting any stages online so it’s a complete surprise! It will be physically demanding so be ready. If you're curious of the STYLE of competition, we do have a video detailing our first event here
We want to stay around 300 rounds. Bring extra ammo just in case!
Scoring
We will be utilizing Hit Factor scoring. Points for hits in specific zones will change depending on your power factor, this is only applicable to pistol calibers. Major power factor - 40s&w and up. Minor power factor - 9mm and down.
Gear
Make sure your gear is properly and safely configured. Your holster should have proper retention for performing physical activity. If your firearm becomes unholstered during physical activity as a result of improper retention you may be asked to change holsters.
Try and test your gear beforehand. You must maintain the same gear load throughout the event unless it breaks, so make sure it’s comfortable and works for you, because you can’t change it!
Kit "Management"
As a participant at Exodus you will be required to carry everything you will need to complete all the stages, without returning to a staging area or your vehicle. This should include ammo, water, magazines, replacement parts etc. You will not be permitted to return to a staging area or your vehicle after you have started your first stage to retrieve additional gear or ammo. You will be permitted to adjust your kit or gear at any point during the event, either while waiting to shoot a stage or during a stage, as long as you don’t remove any gear from your person. The only exception is if you must repair the firearm in order for it to remain in a safe working state.
You can pack as many magazines and as much ammo as you want. You are allowed to load magazines at any point during the event, whether during a stage (not-advisable) or while waiting to shoot or moving between courses of fire.
Squads
In order to make sure we can get everyone through each stage in a timely fashion, we will be assigning squads during registration. Each squad will start on a different stage to prevent overlap.
Changes and Cancelations
For our first event we want to ensure that we get a full group to properly test. So, please alert us if you can’t attend so we can assign the spot to the next person. If you cancel at least 7 days before the event date, you will receive a full refund.
Prizes
For our first event we unfortunately don't have a large prize pool. We will be giving out a couple of trophies to commemorate your accomplishment.
Brandon Award: This award is for someone who is a super try hard. Or maybe someone who games the stage to squeeze out that small advantage.
"huh" Award: Do you have the most unique setup at the event? Or maybe you're running something very obscure that you proved actually works? This award is for you!
FAQ
I’ve never shot a competition before, can I compete?
Yes! No matter if it’s your first competition or your 100th you can compete at Tennessee Exodus.
I’m a BRAND NEW shooter or I haven’t shot a gun before, can I compete?
No, while you don’t need a competitive shooting background you do need to be familiar with your firearm and gear. Since this event will involve a dynamic shooting experience with elevated physical exercise, we require you to be at least an intermediate shooter.
Are there any stipulations on firearms we can bring?
Not explicitly. As long as the firearms are in safe working order you can bring whatever you want. You do need to bring a rifle and a pistol however. The caliber of your firearm will dictate how many hits you need to neutralize targets.
Are spectators allowed?
Yes! Spectators must wear hearing and eye protection but they are more than welcome to attend without the need to register.
